In India, TVS introduced the XL100 BS6 collection. The moped is available in three models, branded the TVS XL100 Heavy Duty I Regular, Comfort and Special Version, priced at Rs 43,932, Rs 43,602 and Rs 42,362, respectively (all sizes, ex-showroom, Mumbai). That’s a hike of around Rs 3,500 over their BS4 variants respectively.
The price rise may be ascribed to the latest BS6-compliant engine. The 99.7cc air-cooled engine now features fuel injection that not only helps with cleaner emissions but also increases a reported 15 percent fuel output. Power production is the same — 6000rpm at 4.4PS and 3500rpm at 6.5Nm. A single-speed gearbox with a centrifugal clutch is in operation.
The BS6 series tends to use an underbone design with twin shock absorbers and telescopic forks. Using the infusion of petrol and a catalytic converter contributes 3 kg and now weighs 89 kg. This gets tube-type tires and 16-inch spoke spokes. Braking on both ends is achieved via 110 mm drum brakes.
