At Auto Expo 2020 Hyundai showcased the facelifted Tucson. The updated SUV gets a few cosmetic changes for the diesel variants along with a new automatic transmission. Our sources have now verified the launch of the facelifted SUV here on 14 July.
It will be powered by 2.0-liter petrol and diesel engines which comply with BS6. Although the petrol engine would be coupled to a 6-speed AT, the diesel version is getting a new 8-speed automatic transmission alternative in the pre-facelift model instead of the 6-speed AT. It is estimated that the petrol engine would produce 152PS, while the diesel model would possibly bring out 185PS.
The facelifted Tucson gets a slightly bigger version of Hyundai ‘s signature cascading grille than ever before. Other improvements include a new collection of aluminum wheels (up to 18 inches), full-Driven headlamps with Driven DRLs, tail-lamp LED features and rain-sensing wipers. Hyundai has revamped the rear design significantly, including updated housing and bumper license plate.
Inside, the updated SUV features a new instrument cluster as part of the redesigned dashboard, and a free-floating touchscreen infotainment system. With the update, the Tucson will also support the latest connected car technology from Hyundai which provides features such as remote start-stop engine and pre-cool cabin. The facelifted Tucson will carry forward existing features including wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof and the electric parking brake.
The pre-facelift BS4 model, which retailed Rs 18.76 lakh to Rs 26.97 lakh between, is expected to command a premium.
