BS6 Mahindra Scorpio Launched

In India, Mahindra has released the BS6 Scorpio following the ongoing lockdown of coronavirus. There were also a few changes to the catalogue of versions. The Scorpio base model was discontinued by Mahindra. The top-spec versions of AWD and S7 (120PS edition of the 2.2-liter engine) were also discontinued. The S5 is the latest base model, and Rs 20,000 hiked its size. The other versions saw a steeper price hike of 60,000 rs.

With the same collection of specifications, the Scorpio continues to be sold, especially auto headlamps with LED DRLs, a rear parking system, auto climate control and cruise control.

The motor underneath the bonnet remains the 2.2-liter diesel engine that produces 140PS and a torque of 320Nm. The transmission stays a 6-speed manual, with no automatic intention of getting it through the catalog of models. The new base model (S5) is only available with a 5-speed transmission. The 2.5-liter engine in the base model (S3) that was formerly sold was also discontinued.
