Toyota Fortuner Facelift

Two designers from the Toyota India portfolio are expected to be unveiled in their facelifted avatars soon. Although the Innova Crysta facelift will be launched this month, the facelifted Fortuner is scheduled to arrive in January 2021 as confirmed by our dealer sources.

For the facelift, Toyota made minor improvements to the exterior of the Fortuner. LED headlamps with LED DRLs, a redesigned front grille, and a new configuration for the LED tail lamps are being modified. As part of the redesign, it may also sport a new set of alloy wheels, as seen on the spy model earlier. In the Thailand market, Toyota also offers a sportier variant of the Fortuner, dubbed the Legender.

With the same selection of petrol and diesel engines as the existing one the facelifted Fortuner is planned to be sold by Toyota: 2.7-liter petrol (166PS/245Nm) and 2.8-liter diesel (177PS/up to 450Nm). Although both engines are available with an optional 6-speed AT the petrol engine is paired with a 5-speed MT and the diesel is paired with a 6-speed MT. The diesel engine of the Thai-spec Fortuner was upgraded to 204PS and 500Nm. It is expected that the India-spec model will get this improved diesel engine. It is predicted that the petrol variant will be a 2WD offering, while the diesel will have the 4WD as before.

With an all-black cabin with a bigger touchscreen infotainment system (up to a 9-inch unit) and a new instrument cluster, the Thai-spec facelifted Fortuner is noticeable. With a 360-degree parking camera, wireless charging pad, and a powered tailgate with a sweep-to-open feature, Toyota provides the Legender version.
