Next-gen Electric Jeep Wrangler

In the not-too-distant future, a completely electric Jeep Wrangler will be available. During Jeep’s presentation at the Stellantis EV Day 2021 event, a concept showcasing an electric Wrangler with autonomous off-road driving was shown.

The vehicle on display shared the same aesthetic theme as the Wrangler Magneto EV concept, but it was a four-door model. Of course, all the doors have been removed, which is a standard feature on all Wranglers while off-roading. The all-electric prototype shown here had self-driving technology that could also be utilised on an off-road path.

Because most autonomous driving technology relies largely on map data for route guidance, it is currently restricted to urban areas with well-maintained roads and traffic signs. Jeep, on the other hand, has a distinct edge in this regard. As a business known for off-road vehicles, it may incorporate a navigation system for typical off-roading routes that can be downloaded to the car’s system. The electric Wrangler could very well drive itself in off-road conditions using the route map, its 4×4 drivetrain, and the typical array of sensors. Of course, there are limitations, since it would be unrealistic to expect autonomous technology to equal the Jeep’s capacity to go where there are no roads.

The car owner may also follow the vehicle’s journey from afar. You may even receive a live stream of your future Wrangler making its way to the desired place if it comes with the drone scout bundle.
