MG Hector Receives New Over-The-Air Update With New Features

In June 2019 MG Motor introduced Hector SUV in India. It provides a range of first-segment functionality and wired car technologies. The carmaker has now introduced an OTA (over-the-air) update for the infotainment system in the Hector.

Starting with its built-in Gaana application, customers can now control the music application via voice commands using this update. The infotainment system now receives a new gray color theme, additional voice commands with new ‘chit-chat’ feature, and supports up to 100 words for messages of welcome. The most recent update, which will be phased out, also includes multiple bug fixes. When new upgrades for their SUV are eligible, customers will receive an SMS notice and an email.

Connected car technology enabled by the Hector’s eSIM helps remotely control various features. This involves monitoring the AC, opening and closing the sunroof, and locking and unlocking the door and tailgate. It also provides a ‘Find My Car’ feature that helps locate the Hector in a car park while the geo-fencing feature sends an alert to the owner’s mobile phone when the car crosses a set perimeter.
