MG Hector gathers 50,000 bookings Within 8 Months Of Launch

MG Motor started its Indian innings on the front foot, as the manufacturer received over 50,000 Hector reservations in less than eight months of operation. The carmaker reports that some 20,000 of those reservations have been turned into sales. This accounts for an average of about 2,500 units per month, quite a healthy number for a segment where SUVs like the Tata Harrier and the Mahindra XUV500 can already be found.

MG Motor started its Indian innings at the front as the supplier That’s quite a significant number considering that MG had to temporarily stop accepting new reservations just a month after the launch of the Hector. In reality, the car was nearly sold out for 2019 before MG ramped up production in October and reopened reservations again.

While it was only available in a 5-seater configuration, a more spacious six-seater variant called the Hector Plus which is due to launch in the third quarter of 2020 will now be followed by the Hector. This six-seater also will be preceded by a 7-seater variant, which gets captain seats for the middle row.
