Mahindra XUV500 Spied With New Production-spec Headlamps

A camouflaged Mahindra SUV, which takes a long time to unveil, is common to find. It began with the Thar second-gen and now, with the XUV500 next-gen, it’s happening. This season, for the first time, he was spied on by production-spec headlamps.

The new headlamps on the camouflaged test mule have the same shape as the outgoing edition, but they are streamlined and angular with the elements inside. Atop the projector headlights, the two LED daytime running light strips begin and drop down into the bumper to form a C-shape like the XUV300. The spy model appeared to be a halogen unit lower-spec version, but on the higher models we should assume LED units. The updated XUV500 is likely to be a sportier-looking SUV overall, based on the previous sightings of the test mule.

It is expected that Mahindra will have a range of premium features and also outfit it with autonomous level 1 technologies for driver assistance systems such as autonomous emergency braking and lane maintenance assistance. The interior was kept under wraps, but we spied on the dashboard for the central infotainment and the multimedia driver’s monitor with a dual-screen interface. A panoramic sunroof is also supposed to be obtained, a first for Mahindra. In the mid-size SUV market, the XUV500 will continue to be a 7-seater offering.
