The next-gen Land Rover Defender debuted on the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2019. Land Rover India has now started reservations for the SUV which is offered in two body styles: 90 (3 doors) and 110 (5 doors).
Because it is a Defender, it uses a famous AWD drivetrain from Land Rover. The 2020 Defender is powered by a 2.0-liter petrol engine that produces 300PS of power and a torque of 400Nm. It comes mated to an automatic gearbox with an 8-speed ZF.
The 2020 Defender features a 360-degree camera, wade sensor, electronic air suspension, connected car software, IRVM auto-dimming, and sound system with up to 10 speakers. In addition, Land Rover also provides LED headlamps, cruise control and up to six airbags for the SUV. It also offers a range of seating styles, accessories packs and additional features that can be customized.
The SUV capable of off-roading is being launched as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and is therefore priced in the range of Rs 69.99 lakh to Rs 86.27 lakh (ex-showroom India). The next-gen Defender is a British alternative to the latest Rs 63.94 lakh (ex-showroom India) petrol-only Jeep Wrangler. Officially it is expected to launch shortly.
