Suzuki has chosen to introduce the Jimny Lite to the Australian market. It’s a stripped-down version of the normal Jimny, which is only available in one variation right now. It appears to be aimed at buyers who desire the Jimny’s off-road capability without the extra amenities that make it a superb everyday vehicle.
Standard 15-inch steel wheels and plastic textured ORVM covers will be available. Fog lamps, which were included as standard on Jimnys sold in Australia, have also been removed from the kit. The Jimny will include a 2 DIN audio player with CD and radio capability, a manual air conditioner, and Bluetooth connection on the interior.
The only Jimny version currently on the market in Australia comes with both manual and automatic gearbox choices. It has a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with 102PS and 130Nm of torque. The Jimny Lite will have the same specs as the regular Jimny, but it will only come with a manual transmission. There will also be a part-time 4WD system available.
