Nissan Magnite Officially Teased

Nissan India has given its forthcoming sub-4 m SUV, The Magnite, a blinged-out preview. On 16 July the Vehicle will be fully unwrapped. The official announcement sketches a timetable for completion for the second half of the 2020-21 fiscal year. Earlier, the first half of FY 2020-21 was planned. With this calculation, just after the holiday season, i.e. in the early months of 2021, will you see it on showroom floors.

The preview reveals the front quarter bar, and half the fascia of the SUV. It gets stylish headlamps with LEDs and Datsun redi-GO-like daytime running lights with LED designs. A brazen front bumper, false skid and side cladding give it a bit of roughness. The latest version of alloy wheel brings even more bling to the formula. In contrast, however, expect the production-spec edition to look a little more toned down.

It is quite important to notice that, particularly from the front, the Magnite here looks very close to the Datsun redi-GO. It will be based on the architecture of the Renault Triber, implying it should be considered to be a very spacious bid. The Triber has a 2636 mm wheelbase for comparison, and for that matter boosts all current sub-4 m SUVs and even small sedans (except Ciaz).

While Nissan does not communicate about the Magnite’s feature list, expect it to be similar to the Triber, albeit with the addition of some good-looking equipment. Expect Lights for the tail lamps as well, a 360-degree display, remote start / stop motor, broad infotainment touchscreen panel, graphical instrument cluster, and also four airbags. Considering the growing popularity of sunroofs, do anticipate the same on this bid.

The Nissan Magnite would be a fuel-only platform that will use the Renault Triber’s 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine. A turbocharged variant of the same engine may even make its way under the hood of the Magnite, displacing around 100PS. Whereas the naturally aspired engine would be coupled with a 5-speed manual, in addition to the manual alternative, the turbocharged version may also get an optional CVT.
