MG Hector Plus Teased In A New Colour Ahead Of Launch

The MG Hector Plus will be India’s most recent product for the company. It is based on regular Hector SUV but has a third seat row. The latest teaser shows the variant Plus in an all-new blue color option for the exterior. That would presumably be the Hector Plus hero color even like the Hector’s Glaze Rose.

MG has already started the Hector Plus series development at its Halol plant, and is expected to launch it in July. The Hector Plus will be introduced as a 6-seater while a later variant of a 7-seater is planned. It debuted in Candy White at Auto Expo 2020, and has also been seen in Aurora Silver since then. This is the first time the new Starry Blue option has been shown by MG, a color not offered on the regular Hector 5-seater.

The Plus shares its engine options with the Hector 5-seater. This involves the 1.5-liter turbo-petrol that makes 143PS/250Nm along with the option of a Hector-like 48V mild-hybrid tech. Variants of petrol will come with a 6-speed manual or automatic DCT option. The Hector Plus’ most common engine choice may be the 2.0-liter diesel model delivering 170PS and 350Nm, matched to a 6-speed manual. It does not get an automated alternative however.

The Hector Plus would also have the same specifications — a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment device with smart car connectivity, a panoramic sunroof, luxurious upholstery and a 360-degree monitor for parking. MG should add third row AC vents and a USB charging slot. As the Plus is a relatively premium product, MG may also offer a few additional features over the Hector.
