In September 2019 Maruti Suzuki launched the S-Presso with only one petrol engine. With prices ranging from Rs 4.84 lakh to Rs 5.13 lakh it has now released its CNG version.
The CNG kit is available in four variants: LXi, LXi (O), VXi, and VXi (O), which are missing on the variants of base spec STD and top spec VXI+. They get a uniform 75,000 Rs price hike over their counterparts in petrol.
Like the Celerio CNG variant, the S-Presso CNG engine also gets a dual interdependent ECU (electronic control unit) which is tuned for both petrol and CNG usage. The CNG variant is offered with the same 1.0-liter BS6 petrol unit (68PS/90Nm) mated to a 5-speed MT. When used on CNG, it produces 59PS and 78Nm. It gets 55 liters of water-filling equal tank capacity, and returns 31.2 km / kg fuel output. In addition, Maruti provides the S-Presso petrol-powered models with a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
Since the CNG kit is available in the existing S-Presso variants, its equipment list remains as it is. Top-spec CNG variant features include manual AC, keyless entry, and front power windows. Standard safety features available include rear parking sensors, EBD ABS, and driver side airbag.
