India-bound MG ZS Petrol SUV

MG Motor had taken various cars to India earlier this year for its Auto Expo showcase. The petrol-powered version of the facelifted ZS was amongst them. We are already having this SUV ‘s pre-facelift, pure EV edition, but MG is also preparing to launch the petrol edition and it has now been spied testing in India.

As a facelifted variant, featuring sleek new LED headlamps, the petrol ZS features aesthetic changes from the EV edition in the form of sharper front end styling. The newest ZS also receives a redesigned cabin in its UK model, with a new core 10.1-inch monitor and a restyled climate control system. Like the EV there was also a panoramic sunroof in the spied ZS gas. It also could have six airbags, auto AC and cruise control.

Depending on the market, the ZS gets different engine choices but in India, MG is likely to sell it only with a single engine. That will potentially be a new 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 160PS and 230Nm automatic with the option of a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed one. It is expected the carmaker will launch the petrol-powered ZS here in early 2020.
