Honda postponed the new City’s reveal in India

The Honda City Fifth-Gen will go on sale in India in April 2020. The carmaker has postponed the new City’s India reveal and media drive due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus scare which was expected to take place in the coming week.

However, an image of the new Honda City in India-spec has now appeared online and indicates that the car will carry some country-specific changes for our market. As seen in the picture, the new India-spec City is getting a unique alloy wheel design and beige interiors as well.

The new City is larger than its predecessor but sits on the same wheelbase of 2600 mm. With a 1.5-liter BS6-compliant petrol engine, the new City for India will launch its innings under the hood. The 1.5-liter BS6 diesel will also be on sale, although deliveries for the diesel could start a little later.

Reports tell us that a 1.5-liter mild-hybrid petrol engine will be introduced in the future too. In three models and two gearbox options, a five-speed manual, and a CVT, Honda will launch the new City petrol. The City diesel will come with a manual and will for the first time also get a CVT gearbox option.
