All-new 2022 Skoda Rapid

The all-new Skoda Rapid for 2022 is expected to enter dealerships early next year. The yet-to-be-revealed Skoda has been spotted testing somewhere along the Mumbai-Pune highway, based on the localised MQB-A0-IN model.

Despite the fact that the car is heavily camouflaged and any aspect is obscured, features like the new Skoda grille, sharp-cut LED lamps, and the floating roof-line stand out. Although the new 2022 Skoda Rapid will share several body panels with its sister model, the VW Virtus, and have a similar basic appearance, it will also have a number of new features that will make it stand out.

The successor to the Rapid will be powered by two TSI engines, both of which are common to us. The first is a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine with 115 horsepower (from the EA211 family). The three-cylinder engine, which has won awards, has a powerful midrange kick and likes to spin hard.

A 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter fitted automatic can drive the front wheels of the 1.0 TSI. The larger engine, the 1.5 TSI, will produce 150 horsepower and a good 250Nm of torque, giving Skoda’s sedan class-leading output. It will also have a twin-clutch automatic transmission for fast shifting.
