A Bharatiya Janata Party candidate was charged on Monday for violating tips for COVID-19 and breaching part 144, the police stated.

Megh Shyam Singh was present in violation of the rules when he visited the Daan Ghati Temple within the metropolis on Sunday and addressed folks close to the temple, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Shrish Chandra stated.

A report was filed towards Mr Singh beneath part 188, 269 and 270 of the Indian Penal Code and part 3 and 4 of the Epidemic Diseases Act, spelling disobedience of public officer and deliberately spreading an infection as prices, the officer stated.
