Mahindra has expanded the Thar Roxx lineup with the introduction of a new Star Edition, priced from Rs 16.85 lakh (ex-showroom). Built on the range-topping AX7L variant, this special edition focuses on visual upgrades, featuring a darker, sportier design theme both inside and out. Along with the cosmetic updates, Mahindra has also introduced a fresh exterior paint option exclusively with this edition.

Thar Roxx Star Edition: Key Highlights
- Based on the top-spec AX7L trim
- Blacked-out exterior and interior styling elements
- Offered in four colour choices
- Available with petrol and diesel engines
- Rear-wheel drive only
Exterior Updates
The Star Edition stands apart from the standard Thar Roxx with a gloss-black grille and black-finished alloy wheels, replacing the body-coloured grille and silver alloys seen on the regular model. A new Citrine Yellow paint shade joins the colour lineup, adding a bold contrast against the black accents. Buyers can also choose from Tango Red, Everest White, and Stealth Black. A dedicated Star Edition badge on the C-pillar further highlights its exclusivity.

Interior Changes and Features
Inside the cabin, Mahindra has replaced the lighter upholstery with an all-black interior theme. The SUV now gets black leatherette seats with suede inserts, giving it a more premium and sporty feel. Feature-wise, it mirrors the AX7L variant and continues to offer:
- Full LED lighting
- Dual 10.25-inch displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment
- Ventilated front seats
- 360-degree surround camera
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Panoramic sunroof
- 9-speaker Harman Kardon audio system
- Multiple terrain modes

Engine and Drivetrain
Mechanically, the Thar Roxx Star Edition remains unchanged. It is powered by the same 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 177hp and 380Nm, and a 2.2-litre diesel engine delivering 175hp and 400Nm. The diesel engine can be paired with either a manual or automatic gearbox, while the petrol version is offered only with an automatic transmission. Notably, this edition is rear-wheel drive only, as Mahindra does not offer the Star Edition with a 4×4 setup.
