Kia is gearing up to unveil the second-generation Seltos (codenamed SP3i) on December 10, 2025, in South Korea. Interestingly, the first-generation Seltos had its global debut in India, but this time the world premiere will take place in Kia’s home market. The all-new Kia Seltos 2026 promises a complete overhaul in terms of design, features, and powertrain technology — including the introduction of a hybrid variant.
Key Highlights of the 2026 Kia Seltos
- Expected global debut: December 10, 2025 (Korea)
- India launch likely in 2026
- All-new design inside and out
- Hybrid powertrain to join the lineup
- Expected to be larger and more spacious than the outgoing model
Next-Gen Kia Seltos: Exterior Design and Dimensions
Spy shots from both India and overseas suggest that the 2026 Seltos will adopt a bold new design language, inspired by Kia’s global SUVs such as the Telluride. The SUV appears taller, boxier, and more muscular, with vertical LED DRLs, connected LED light bars, and a sharper front fascia. Kia is expected to give the new model a distinctive and modern appeal, blending sophistication with rugged SUV proportions.
In terms of size, the new Seltos will likely be larger than the current version, offering improved cabin space and road presence — two areas where buyers in this segment place high importance.

Interior Upgrades and Features
The interior of the current Kia Seltos is already considered one of the most premium in its class. The next-generation Seltos aims to take things a step further with:
- 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol (115hp)
- 1.5L turbo-petrol (160hp)
- 1.5L diesel (116hp)
However, the biggest addition will be a hybrid powertrain, based on the existing 1.5L petrol engine. This setup will enhance both fuel efficiency and performance, helping Kia compete directly with the Toyota Hyryder Hybrid and Maruti Grand Vitara Hybrid.
Reports also hint at an e-AWD system for international markets, though it may not be offered in India initially.
Competition and Market Outlook
When the second-generation Kia Seltos launches in India in 2026, it will enter an even more competitive mid-size SUV segment. Rivals will include the upcoming Renault Duster, Nissan Tekton, and the Hyundai Creta facelift.
The current Seltos has been a consistent performer for Kia India, thanks to its premium appeal and versatile engine choices. The new model aims to strengthen that position further with hybrid technology, enhanced design, and cutting-edge features.
The 2026 Kia Seltos represents a major step forward for Kia’s global SUV portfolio. With a more robust design, advanced hybrid system, and upgraded interiors, the next-gen Seltos is poised to redefine expectations in the mid-size SUV space.
Stay tuned for more details as the global debut approaches in December 2025, followed by an India launch in 2026.
